Katherine Heigl opens up to the world on her "white bubble childhood" and how it has influenced how she raises the children of her adoptive parents who are multiracial. She is the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" star shared in a recent interview that in regards to skin tone, it didn't matter to her how she looked like however, after speaking to her older sister, who was adoptive from South Korea, she realized how different society treated each of the two. Meg was asked whether she was treated differently when they were out together with their parents or the time they were on their own. Meg replied, "Oh, yes, every times! Heigl said to her parents: "That was when I was aware of how foolish I had resulted in me feeling." Heigl admitted she became frustrated and thought she needed to channel her anger on helping her adoptee daughters. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son with her 13-year husband, Josh Kelley. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 years old in 2009. then Adalaide whom was eight years old old and is Black in 2012.
