Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 points in an Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi stumbled upon Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci would go on to become the gymnastics coach of Romania. In 1969, she competed in the Romanian Junior Championships and finished 13th. In 1970, she won the title. Three gold medals were awarded in her debut competition at a pre-Olympic junior meet in 1972. It was for communist-friendly countries. In 1973 and 1974she won the all-around junior champion. She beat the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva, the five-time European Champion at her first senior international event in 1975. In this event she was awarded four golds and one silver. She won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars using an inverse salto that doubled backward. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment business started in her teens, when she began dancing as a figure skater with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the show that travels that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in entertainment when she was in her teens. At the age of a girl she began her journey as an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating and included staged performances.
