Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 in the Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was only six years old. She competed for the very first time at the national junior championships, placing 13th. In the following year, she became champion. In 1972, in the communist nations' meet for juniors in the lead-up to the Olympics she was awarded 3 gold and silver medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she was named the junior champion in all aspects. The athlete won four golds and one silver in the first competition of her senior level, held in 1975. This was the first time that she competed as a senior. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars and to use an inverse salto that doubled backward. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the entertainment business started in her teens when she started performing as a figure skater along with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around named Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol started her career in the entertainment business at the age of a teenager. At the age of 13 she was a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured ice skating performance that was accompanied by musical theatre.
